Below is an interesting map and accompanying table prepared by State Farm Insurance on the most and least likely states for you to be involved in a vehicle-deer collision. Unfortunately, this is one ranking it would be nice to see Michigan dropping in than rising from 5th to 4th.
While it finished in 51st place, I was actually quite surprised to see that there were any vehicle-deer accidents in Hawaii. Did not think deer were native to that state, nor did I know they had been introduced. Was also surprised that neither Indiana, New York, nor Ohio were in the top 10 for most accidents with deer.
Both formats present fascinating data that provides a geographic breakdown of the actual and potential dangers for motorists and deer alike.
