Back on November 3, 2010, I wrote how the center of the rock ‘n’ roll universe had shifted north of the border to Canada. Well, the Grammy’s confirmed that last night by awarding its most prestigious award, Album of the Year, to Montreal’s Arcade Fire for its superb album, The Suburbs.
Congratulations to Arcade Fire for a truly classic piece of musical enjoyment and congratulations to the Grammy’s for recognizing that last night. Kudos to both. It was also nice to see my personal choice for best album of 2010 be recognized by other fans of rock ‘n’ roll and of music generally.
I absolutely love this band! They played a secret show in LA on Friday and caused much anticipation and drama! The tickets went on sale the day of and sold out in minutes! I totally missed out. It made me wish I saw them more when I was living in Canada. They played there all the time!

Thank you for your nice comments. They are a terrific band. Four of my five favorite bands are from Canada – Metric, Tokyo Police Club, Arcade Fire, and The Stills. One definite advantage of living in Michigan is the Canadian music we get to hear. Hopefully, you will get to see Arcade Fire on tour soon. They are on my list too. My understanding is they will be playing a huge concert with U2 at Moncton, New Brunswick this summer.
