Here’s a quick rundown of those that made the list and the number of patents they received in 2010:

- United States Army – 146
- Department of Health and Human Services – 135
- National Aeronautics and Space Administration – 101
Personally, I am quite surprised that neither the Department of Energy and United States Air Force made the list in 2010. Congratulations to the United States Navy for setting an excellent example and for being a source of cutting-edge innovation. In 2010, the United States Navy more than doubled the patents of its nearest competitor. Go Navy!
