Another year for my annual rant about who has not been included in the Rock ‘n’ Roll Hall of Fame. While I have no problem with Guns n’ Roses or Red Hot Chili Peppers being inducted this year (both deserve it), there are a number of great performers that keep being left out.
I listed these worthy musicians last year (weblink), but will note them yet again in another apparently vain attempt to wake somebody up in Cleveland. It just confounds the crap out of me that these bands/performers have not recognized for their amazing contributions to rock ‘n’ roll. I still refuse to go there until they add at least a few of these artists.
- The Cars
- Pat Benatar
- Cheap Trick
- Def Leppard
- The Cure (nominated but not selected this year)
- Rush
- Carole King
- Yes
- Doobie Brothers
- KISS
Will also add a few more oversights to last year’s list, including:
- Journey
- Todd Rundgren
- The Go-Go’s
- Joy Division
- Joan Jett and the Blackhearts (nominated but not selected)
- Duran Duran
