Below is a list of the leading fair trade producer nations based on the number of fair trade certified producer organizations operating within that country during 2011. The total number of such producers (for all products with coffee, tea, and cocoa being the top three) was 1,030 per the Fair Trade USA 2011 Almanac.

  • Peru – 96
  • Columbia – 80
  • India – 69
  • Kenya – 64
  • Mexico – 50
  • Brazil – 44
  • South Africa – 35
  • Cote d’Ivoire, Mauritius, and Nicaragua – 32 each
  • Dominican Republic – 31
  • Bolivia – 30
  • Cuba and Ecuador – 27 each
  • Ghana – 25
  • Honduras – 24
  • Guatemala – 21
  • Chile – 20
  • Tanzania – 19
  • Palestine – 17
  • Sri Lanka – 16
  • Burkina Faso and Costa Rica – 15 each
