Mapping an on-going disaster

Below is a rather scary map from the National Climate Data Center showing the extent of the current drought in the United States; the worst since 1956.

For many of us, including me this is the worst drought of our lives to date.

    I don’t think there are enough people in this country that understand the causes /consequences of a prolonged drought. Not a political statement, just an observation.
    This is serious data that must be looked at.
