The following list identifies the commercial passenger airports in the United States that are 2,500 acres or larger in land area. The data is directly from the Federal Aviation Administration and is current as of January 10, 2013.

For those who may not be as familiar with airport design and planning, almost as interesting as the airports on the list are the major ones that are missing from it. These include Boston (Logan), New York (La Guardia), Philadelphia, Newark (Liberty), Washington (Reagan), Fort Lauderdale, Cleveland (Hopkins), Louisville, Chicago (Midway), Orange County (John Wayne), San Diego (Lindbergh), Dallas (Love), Buffalo, Columbus, Palm Beach, and Los Angeles (Ontario).

    Dal Dallas Fort Worth Intl Airport is 17,207 acres in size. Go to DFW airport fast facts and google DFW airport skyvector.Click first article. Correct acreage is there.

    MidAmerica St. Louis Airport in in St. Clair County, Illinois covers 7,003 acres.

    Seatac is insane to go through and this shows it very very well . It sits at number 10 in traffic in the u.s but its the smallest commercial airport that you found.
