I never got a chance to see the original Thor motion picture that was released in 2011, so I was a little apprehensive last night when we decided to go see the new release, Thor: The Dark WorldJust a few moments into the film all my worries were erased as it captured my attention and never let go for the entire two hours.

The all-star cast includes Chris Hemsworth as Thor, Natalie Portman, Anthony Hopkins, Renee Russo, Zachary Levi, and Kat Dennings.

The film is very entertaining, full of action, and includes great special effects. The plausible story line (for comic book heroes) shifts between multiple dimensions and worlds throughout the movie. While this is occasionally a tad difficult to keep up with the time and space shifting, the solid story helps keep the continuity together and allows the viewer to catch up.

All in all, Thor, The Dark World is well worth seeing, though I was not blown away by the 3-D effects like I was by Gravity, so I am not sure you need to spend the extra bucks for 3-D.

p.s. Be sure to stay thru the first round of credits or you will miss a bonus feature.
