Listed below are my favorite villain names from classic television cartoons (1950-1980). Some are funny, some are quite punny, and all of them successfully get the point across that these are villains without being overly scary, offensive, or gross. Sadly, more recent television cartoons seem to lack humor or innovativeness when naming characters. The one notable exception is the Penguins of Madagascar series with the evil-doer Dr. Blowhole.

It is interesting to note that many of these characters had Eastern European names that harkened to the Cold War Era of the time:
