Nation’s fastest growing tech center is Detroit

You read that correctly. Detroit has been identified as having the nation’s fastest growing technology sector in the time period between Feb. 2010 and Feb 2011, up by a whopping 101%. According to the report by Dice.com, there are 800 technology jobs available on any given day in Greater Detroit.

Rounding out the top 10 are Cincinnati, Cleveland, Columbus, Seattle, Pittsburgh, Miami, Jacksonville, Chicago, and Silicon Valley. Maybe this Rust Belt chic stuff is not so far-fetched after all, since six of the top 10 are Rust Belt cities. Congratulations to the Motor City as it is earning its new moniker of Automation Alley.
